Let’s make castagnole together in a cookery workshop for children aged 6 to 12, combining hands-on activities, traditional flavours and local customs.

As part of the Estate dei Piccoli programme in Valdidentro, Friday afternoons are dedicated to the “Tradizioni in gioco” workshops, an activity that combines creativity and cooking for children aged 6 to 12.
Organised in collaboration with the Valdidentro Folk Group and the Vallivo Museum in Valfurva, these events allow children to learn whilst having fun, rediscovering the customs, flavours and activities associated with local traditions through hands-on and engaging experiences.
The next event will be dedicated to making castagnole, traditional little cakes that bring back memories, scents and flavours of home.
During the workshop, the children will get stuck in and take part in the various stages of preparation, discovering the ingredients, techniques and little secrets behind a simple yet meaningful recipe.
An activity designed to introduce young children to traditional cooking in a fun, hands-on and collaborative way.
Castagnole are not just a dessert: they are an opportunity to tell stories, recall festive occasions and rediscover those flavours that are often part of the collective memory of families and communities.
Through guided preparation, children will enjoy an experience that combines hands-on activity, listening and a sense of community, learning just how much value can be found in the simple gestures of tradition.
The workshop will be a hands-on, engaging session during which every participant will have the chance to try things out for themselves.
Kneading, shaping, observing and sharing will form part of a programme designed to stimulate curiosity, independence and the joy of discovery.
A fun way to turn cooking into a game and the game into a memory exercise.
The workshop will take place at the Valdidentro Educational Garden; in case of bad weather, the activity will be moved to the Rasin Multipurpose Hall.
At the end of the activity, each child will receive a small gift and a participation card, which will be stamped at each workshop to enhance the experience.
Booking is required.
You can book the activity directly online or at the Valdidentro Tourist Office.
