Thomas Anselmi
Once again this year, Valdidentro is getting ready to welcome one of the most anticipated summer events: the Valdidentro Band Festival, now in its 21st edition.
Organised by the Banda Musicale Santa Cecilia di Valdidentro, conducted by Maestro Alessandro Pacco, the festival has long been a moment of gathering, celebration and sharing, bringing together music, popular culture, band tradition and entertainment.
Over the years, the event has become a point of reference for both residents and visitors, attracting bands and musical groups from different parts of Italy to Valdidentro.
It is a true celebration of music, where the sound of instruments, the energy of the parades and the passion of the musicians create a unique atmosphere, able to engage all generations.
The festival will begin on Saturday evening at the Polifunzionale Rasin.
At 9:00 p.m., the programme includes a concert by the Banda Musicale Santa Cecilia di Valdidentro, conducted by Maestro Alessandro Pacco, together with the Corpo Musicale Santa Cecilia di Inveruno.
Afterwards, the evening will continue with the energy and rhythm of the Funkasin Street Band, who will entertain the audience with their lively and engaging style.
On Sunday morning, from 10:00 a.m., the heart of the event will move to Isolaccia. From Piazza IV Novembre, after the performances of all the bands on the church square, the traditional parade will set off through the village streets, filling them with colour, sound and energy.
The bands will then perform at the Polifunzionale Rasin, offering the audience a series of exciting and engaging performances.
The day will end with a convivial moment open to everyone: the Festival Lunch, a perfect opportunity to share the spirit of the event.
The Corpo Musicale Santa Cecilia di Inveruno was founded in 1884 as a joint-stock company. Its history spans important moments of the twentieth century, from the suspension of activities during the First World War to the restoration, after the Second World War, of its historic name: Corpo Musicale Santa Cecilia.
Over the years, the band has managed to renew itself while keeping its bond with the local community alive and investing in the training of new musicians. Since 1996, it has been conducted by its current conductor, Rosabianca Perego. Today, the Inveruno band has around 47 members and continues to offer music courses taught by qualified teachers.

The ShowBand Majorettes Folk Veneto APS originated from the old Vigonovo band, which in 1968 became a folkloric group with the arrival of the majorettes, among the first in Italy.
One of the group’s most distinctive features is the presence of the Bersagliere majorettes, introduced in the mid-1970s during a national Bersaglieri gathering. Over time, the group has grown thanks to the dedication of majorettes, musicians and accompanying members, bringing parades full of colour, music and choreography to many places in Italy and abroad.
The band is conducted by Maestro Massimiliano Barzon, while the majorettes are coordinated by Captain Ilenia Berto.

The Funkasin are a Venetian street band made up of 3 percussionists and 11 brass/wind players, known for reinterpreting different genres with original arrangements. Their style blends the traditional sounds of brass and drums with the rhythm of rock, funk, disco and techno hits.
Born as an itinerant show in 2012, Funkasin bring to the streets a mix of music, choreography and energy in motion, involving audiences of all ages. When they are not marching, they also perform on stage, highlighting the sound of each instrument and the strength of their arrangements.
With over 600 concerts, the band has taken part in numerous events and festivals in Italy and abroad, including the Venice Carnival in Piazza San Marco, Piazza Duomo in Milan, the 2022 Giro d’Italia in Verona, Gardaland, Innsbruck and several international festivals.

The Corpo Musicale Almenno San Salvatore was officially founded in 1845, although some records trace its origins back to the late eighteenth century. Despite a complex historical context, the band has maintained almost uninterrupted activity over time, receiving numerous certificates of appreciation and merit.
Since 1988, artistic direction has been entrusted to Maestro Professor Luigi Ponti, who leads the group with enthusiasm and expertise. Today, the band has around 50 musicians, many of them young, and in 2025 it celebrated its 180th anniversary, an important milestone that bears witness to its deep bond with the community.

The Fanfara Bersaglieri of the Morbegno Section was founded in 1972 at the initiative of then-President Raffaele Calzolaro and Vice President Quinto Colli. The first group was made up of musicians from Morbegno and from the towns of Andalo Valtellino, Rogolo and Ardenno.
Its first official performance took place on 4 November 1972 in Morbegno, during the annual celebration of Combatants and Veterans. In 1986, the Fanfara took part in its first National Gathering in Turin, marching and playing at a run for the first time in front of the authorities’ stand.
From 1972 to the present day, the Fanfara has continued its activities without interruption, taking part in events, gatherings, and ceremonies with a commemorative, historical, and re-enactment character, with the aim of promoting and keeping alive the traditions and values of the Italian Bersaglieri.

The Valdidentro Band Festival is not just a musical event: it is a moment of encounter, sharing and friendship. It is where tradition and modernity converge, creating a unique atmosphere that moves both residents and visitors.
An event to enjoy together, in the spirit of music and friendship.
