An evening of cinema and reflection, in collaboration with Assopace Palestina, to discover an intense and deeply human story.
Thomas Anselmi
The film, which tells the story of a Palestinian boy’s dream, is coming to Valdidentro for an evening event organised in collaboration with the association Assopace Palestina, which has been working for years to promote human rights and peace.
A simple story, yet one that goes straight to the heart. On Thursday, 22 May, in Rasin, the film The Sea will be screened – an intense and deeply moving work that has captivated audiences and critics alike across the globe.
Directed by Shai Carmeli-Pollak, the film tells the story of Khaled, a 12-year-old Palestinian boy who dreams of seeing the sea for the first time. A dream that seems simple, but comes up against a reality of borders, checkpoints and obstacles.
When, during a school trip, he is stopped at a checkpoint and forced to turn back, Khaled decides not to give up: he sets out on his own, embarking on a difficult, perilous journey just to reach the sea.
Meanwhile, his father embarks on a desperate search, risking everything to find him, in a story that weaves together love, fear and hope.
“The Sea” is not merely the story of a journey, but a profound reflection on freedom, identity and rights. With a sensitive and authentic perspective, the film transforms a personal story into a universal message that engages and inspires reflection in viewers of all ages.
Having been screened at various international festivals and acclaimed by critics, this film has distinguished itself through its ability to portray a complex reality with sensitivity and authenticity.
The screening will take place at the Rasin Multipurpose Centre: a special opportunity to enjoy an evening of cinema together that goes beyond the screen, capable of stirring the emotions and opening up a space for reflection and dialogue.
A film to watch, to feel and to share. Because sometimes, the most important journey is the one that helps us better understand the world—and others.
