Temporary RTZ and Car Passes: the Special Mobility System for the 2026 Winter Olympic Games

On the occasion of the 2026 Winter Olympic and Paralympic Games, significant changes to road traffic and vehicle circulation will be implemented in the areas of Alta Valtellina, in order to ensure safety and proper traffic flow management during the competition period.
The measures will mainly affect the municipalities of Valdidentro, Bormio, Livigno, Valdisotto and Valfurva, with different access rules and control time slots.
During the Olympic period, access control checkpoints will be active for private vehicles.
To enter and circulate within the affected areas, a valid vehicle pass is required, except for residents, workers, and essential services.

Initially, two types of passes were provided:
The deadline to request multi-day passes expired on 31 January 2026.
It is therefore no longer possible to submit new applications for this type of pass.

IMPORTANT: vehicles without a Pass Auto may pass through checkpoints only when the Olympic ZTL zones are not active.
At present, only daily passes may be requested. These are granted only for proven and justified needs to access the ZTL, such as:

After receiving the Pass:
Alternatively, the Daily Vehicle Pass may be requested and collected in person on the same day at the Distribution Points by presenting the required supporting documentation.

Incomplete applications or requests without proper documentation will not be approved.
Access rules vary depending on the municipality:
The Municipality of Valdidentro is included in Livigno ZTL Zone 3, extending from the border with Bormio to Passo Eira (Trepalle).
To enter and circulate in this area, a vehicle pass is required every day from 4 to 22 February 2026, between 06:00 and 24:00.


For Livigno, Valdisotto and Valfurva, specific rules apply according to the pass management system and Olympic traffic plans.
